Zee Tamizh’s channel driver show ‘Solvathellam Unmai’ anchored by Lakshmy Ramakrishnan is a reality talk show which deals with emotions, family issues and spot solutions. This critically acclaimed show is the talk of the state and covers diverse genuine stories, family issues, un-heard of special stories, stories on marvels, social issues and reunions. The show has gained trust, confidence and has built hope among the people of the state. The show has exposed murder cases and uncovered a lot of hidden stories in the past. Adding to the past glories, the show has now reached another milestone by reuniting a mentally challenged boy with his family after 8 long years.
Ganesh (Nanni) aged 17 years went missing from Mumbai and was struggling to live life in the streets of Vannarpettai, Chennai. On knowing that he is mentally challenged, some good Samaritans from this area brought him to our show to find a safe place to live in. The story of this boy was first taken on air on 21st Oct, 2013, post which four families from different parts of the country claimed him to belong to their families. While the process of checking the authenticity of the claimants and legal clearances was initiated, the boy was parallel treated for his health ailments and kept safe in a child welfare centre. Post the background checks, it was found that two families one from Mumbai, Maharashtra and other from Tuticorin, Tamilnadu were almost genuine in their claim. In the final episode on 31st October, 2013 we advised both the families to approach the Child Welfare Court and get a DNA test done to claim this boy. The families had agreed for the same in the show and the DNA test results proved that the boy belonged to the couple from Mumbai. All legal clearances were done and the boy was reunited with his biological parents after 8 years. The parents were emotional when they had their lost son back after 8 years which they consider as an absolute miracle and believe wouldn’t have happened without the effort of the Zee Tamizh Team.
