Pradeep Guha joins as CEO Zee Telefilms Limited

Mumbai, December 08, 2004: After months of conjecturing industry professional and observers, Mr Pradeep Guha joins India’s leading media and entertainment conglomerate Zee Telefilms Ltd. as its Chief Executive Officer. He will assume office from January 2005.

Announcing this appointment, Mr. Subhash Chandra, Chairman Zee Telefilms Ltd. Said, “We are happy to announce the appointment of an accomplished professional like Pradeep as the CEO of Zee Telefilms Ltd. Our numerous channels spanning several languages and genres will be the perfect foil to his skills as a media and entertainment expert.”

Prior to this assignment, Mr Guha was the president of the Times Group Mumbai, a company where he started and built his career. Three decades spent in the Times and media have not only honed his skills as an exemplary practitoner but also as an astute leader with a finger on today’s pulse and a bird’s eye view on tomorrow trends. Over the years he has ably lead the Sales & Marketing function of the Times Group with geometrically progressive revenue growth in the last decade. He has also spearheaded the Page 3 culture in India with the launch on Bombay Times, reengineered key brands like The Times of India, Filmfare and Femina, and revved the glamour and entertainment industry by reinventing the Filmfare Awards and the Femina Miss India contest. Ample proof of this is the proliferation of international titleholders that India spawned under Mr.Guha’s steerage of these events, viz. two Miss Universes and four Miss Worlds. Further, in his personal capacity he has launched a film production company, which produced the critically acclaimed hit film, Fiza.

He combines his formidable Entertainment Quotient with a deep involvement in the advertising and marketing industry as a whole being afflicted in a crucial capacity with the bodies like Indian Newspaper Society, National Readership Studies Council, Advertising Council of India, Advertising Club Bombay, among others. Recently he brought all his diverse skills together to helm Asia’s largest biennial advertising Congress, Ad Asia 2003 that was held in Jaipur, India.
