Shankhachil wins the ‘BEST BENGALI FILM’ award at the National Film Awards 2016!

The poignant Bengali film - 'Shankhachil', directed by the famous Goutam Ghose and presented and distributed by Zee Studios, won the award for the 'Best Bengali Film' at the prestigious 63rd National Film Awards ceremony.
The poignant Bengali film – ‘Shankhachil’, directed by the famous Goutam Ghose and presented and distributed by Zee Studios, won the award for the ‘Best Bengali Film’ at the prestigious 63rd National Film Awards ceremony. A special screening of the film was held recently for the film fraternity and attended by Goutam Ghose, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Shatrughan Sinha, Madhur Bhandarkar, Abhinav Kashyap, Abhijeet Bhattacharya amongst many others.
The film was appreciated by critiques, connoisseurs and viewers likewise. Shankhachil is an evocative story that highlights the suffering and angst of people divided by national borders. It touches upon the separation of Bengal and Bangladesh while highlighting the plight of people on both sides of the border.
Veteran actor – Shatrughan Sinha said, “The film is very thought provoking. The timely presentation and the way such a bold topic is dealt with is very beautiful. The performances of Prosenjit and the child actor (Shajbati) were commendable.”
Winner of sixteen National Awards, Goutam Ghose directed the cast including the Bengali superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee along with Kusum Sikder, Deepankar Dey, Ushasia Chakraborty and Shajbati in the film. Zee Studios distributed the film in all territories excluding Bengal and Bangladesh.
The 63rd National Film Awards were recently held to honor the best films of 2015 in Indian cinema.
