ZEE Theatre, a special offering from the stable of the leading global content company ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Ltd., in its maiden Theatre Tour, brings classic Hindi play ‘Chuhal’ to Kolkata. Directed by Manav Kaul, the play features Manav Kaul, Sugandha Garg, Srishti Srivastava and Padma Damodaran. The play will be staged in the city on Saturday, January 28 at G D Birla, Sabhagar.
Chuhal is a relationship drama between a school teacher, Sudhir, and Aarti, who works in a private company, played by Sugandha Garg. She believes that love is a fulfilling journey in itself while he thinks of it as a stepping stone to marriage. A series of light-hearted conversations – which give the play its name – arises from the contrasting personalities of the two protagonists.
Talking about the play, Manav Kaul comments, “Chuhal is like homecoming to me, I’ve returned to stage after almost a decade with this play, and it feels amazing. The play is a light hearted banter between two strangers, played by Sugandha Garg and me. This is the first time that we are staging the play in Kolkata, and we are looking forward to create a memorable experience for theatre lovers in the city. After, Kolkata, we will be touring to other cities as well as part of Zee Theatre Tour”
